The City of Windsor has a motion going to City Council to close all their municipally-operated child care centres. We have worked with the City of Windsor for the past 14 years on a child care project. Over the years we have had many members use their municipal centres under our Child Care Fund.

The City is targeting closure of the centres as pay back for the 4 month strike and in response to the economic conditions in Windsor. Over 100 jobs are at stake and hundreds of high quality child care spaces would be eliminated. We are fighting back and supporting the CUPE and community organizing.
